It's all done with mirrors, says report on show home 'tricks'

Show homes used by developers to sell new houses can be misleading and look far superior to the actual property on sale, a report said yesterday.

The report highlighted the tricks used to make show homes appear larger, lighter and more luxurious than they actually are.

Developers use show homes to sell new properties before they are built.

Catriona Bright, director of New Build Inspections and author of the report, said developers left all lights on to create an impression of more natural light, used glass furniture and mirrors to provide a feeling of space and removed internal doors to make the house appear larger.
